CHOOSING MY BLOCK

For my own trouser design I opted to use a menswear block as I prefer the fit of these for a girl. I know I want to stay away from the skinny/slim jean style and so thought a good start would be to try menswear for ladies. In the session we focused on the fit around the top of the jeans, how the waist fit and where the darts should be placed. Because I had chosen to start with a mens medium the waist was far too big and so had to be taken in a considerable amount for the trouser to sit where I wanted them too, high on my waist. Marko helped me to pin in the trousers on my own toile at the back and the sides.
