"Mass Appeal" was an event held in London featuring an exhibition of 14 iconic Stone Island and CP Company jackets from 1882-2018 including some of the rarest pieces in existence, an exclusive display of archive images provided by the Massimo Osti archive, trader stalls and Dj sets. Massimo Osti has always been a huge influence to me and my designing. I think while the label will be forever somewhat associated with tough-guy hooligans, at the end of the day Stone Island is about boundary-pushing technology and innovative fabrics. They are, and always have been constantly pushing the boundaries of garment technology, creating product that’s fresh and that no one else would even think of. Stone Island have been producing reflective and heat-reactive garments since the 80s, way before anyone else, and its this kind of innovation which made me want to join sportswear design! The exhibition was slightly smaller than I initially expected but it was still amazing to see such rare pieces displayed in the same room. I have been looking at Ostis designs for inspiration for AstroGirl since the beginning and seeing the designs in person really highlighted why. I found one piece in particular which really inspired me and I could definitely see both myself and AstroGirl wearing!

This 3M reflective vest is perfect for the AstroGirl aesthetic. I spoke to one of the guys there and he told me there were only 30 of these left in the world. It was such a cool piece that I've decided to make AstroGirls outfit in 3M reflective fabric, I think it'll add to the Astro space vibes!!!
