PATTERN CUTTING DAY 2

The first thing I did today was fix my sleeve. I decided the best thing to do would be to start my toile again completely from scratch. So I recut the body and reevaluated the sleeve. It fit in the armhole perfectly the first time. But when I put on the toile, I found because I'd lengthened the sleeves to create the stacking it fell completely over my hands, I have chosen not to put a cuff so it hangs loosely, but still want my hands to be visible. So I narrowed the wrist on the pattern so it sat more snug, and then bagged over the top. I'm really pleased with the way the shoulder sits and how loose the fit is around the arms. I then moved onto creating my collar. Firstly I changed the rounded neckline to a lower pointed one so it sits slightly lower on the chest. This was just as hard as getting the sleeve perfect. I would create a collar and then would decide I'd want it longer or more pointed. This process took some time, but I'm happy with the decided size and the progress so far.
